Learning is based on the engineering design process as a didactic problem solving process and involve building models from “Kliks” parts, including motors, lights and sensors.
Kliks
"Kliks” is a comprehensive learning environment intends to enhance the learning and teaching of Science and Technology in a social context. It is specially design for Elementary school students, Junior High school and High school students.
“Kliks” includes 3 modular systems: Machines & Mechanisms system; Computer-Controlled system and Solar-Energy system.
It intents to discuss the physical principles of each of the five basic mechanisms and to demonstrate their applications in various machines in daily life. For each machine there are graphically colorful building instructions and set of activities.
Machines & Mechanisms system
Machines & Mechanisms system includes variety of machine models, each represents an application of a basic mechanism: Levers, Wheels and Axles, Pulleys, Inclined Planes and Gears.
The main objective of “Kliks” ‘Computer Controlled System’ is to gradually familiarize students with the world of computers and programming as well as with computer controlled systems. Basic concepts in computer control are presented and applied.
Computer - Controlled System
The Computer-Controlled System is based on models made from “Kliks” parts, including motors, light bulbs and sensors. The environment includes also control software called TechnoLogica and a computerized control interface called Leonardo. The students build models included in the kit, or models of their own design, and use TechnoLogica to program the operation of the computer controlled models.
